Pursuant to the requirements of Section 179A of the Planning and Development Regulations, 2023, notice is hereby given that Mayo County Council proposes to carry out a development, particulars of which are set out in the Schedule hereunder.

The restoration, extension, and conversion of former McHales shop to a terrace of 3 no. 3-bedroom houses, together with the construction of 16 no. new houses comprising 2 no. 1-bedroom houses, 11 no. 2-bedroom houses, and 3 no. 3-bedroom houses. All associated site development works including access roads, footways, car parking, site boundaries, open space, drainage, landscaping, associated earthworks, public lighting, utilities and services connections, and all ancillary site works, at a site straddling both sides of the L5704 road. |
Plans and particulars of the proposed development, will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at the following offices of Mayo County Council:
- Planning Office, Aras an Chontae, The Mall, Castlebar F23 WF90
between the hours of 9.30am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.30pm each day during which said Offices are open for the transaction of business, for a period from 24th September 2024 up to and including 23rd November 2024.

A person may question the validity of any decision of the Planning Authority by way of an application for Judicial Review, under Order 84 of the Rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. No. 15 of 1986), in accordance with sections 50 and 50A of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). Mayo County Council, as the competent authority, has carried out an Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report and has determined that a Stage 2 Appropriate Assessment is not required in respect of this proposed development.
Mayo County Council has carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Report and has determined that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and has determined that an EIAR is not required in respect of this proposed development.
