Pursuant to the requirements of Section 179 of the Planning and Development Acts, 2000-2020 and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001-2020, notice is hereby given that Mayo County Council proposes to carry out a development, particulars of which are set out in the Schedule hereunder.

The proposed development will consist of two parts, inclusive of all ancillary works and required services.
Cois Abhainn: Construction of 75 linear metres of new Flood Defense Wall, height 1.7 metres above existing ground level. To include the re-routing of surface water drainage and other services, as necessary to facilitate works. Existing Pedestrian (stepped) access to the riverside area, to be relocated/replaced with a ramped access.
Ashwood Estate: Construction of 170 linear metres of new Flood Defense Embankment, height 1.1 metres above existing ground level. To include the re-routing of surface water drainage and other services, as necessary to facilitate works.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy between the hours of each day during which the said Offices are open for the transaction of business, for a period extending from the 21st September to the19th October 2021:
Westport Civic Offices, Altamont Street, Westport, F28 W248 between the hours of 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and
2.00 pm to 4:30pm.

Mayo County Council, as the competent authority, has carried out an Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report
and has determined that a Stage 2 Appropriate Assessment is not required in respect of this proposed development.
Mayo County Council has carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Report and has determined that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and has determined that an EIAR is not required.
