Proposed Construction of 8 no Dwellings together with all associated site development works at Cross West, Cross, Co Mayo.

Pursuant to the requirements of Section 177AE of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, notice is hereby given that Mayo County Council proposes to seek approval from An Bord Pleanála to carry out a development, particulars of which are set out in the Schedule hereunder.

Proposed Construction of 8 no Dwelling Units comprising 3 no. 3 bed dormer scale houses and 5 no. 2 bed dormer scale houses with private rear gardens. All associated site development works including demolition of existing roadside wall, provision of new entrance from public local roadway, internal access roads, footpaths, parking, public lighting, landscaping, associated earthworks, utilities, services connections (including connection to public water mains approx. 300m to the east of the site), new drainage with connections to public mains and associated ancillary works at Cross West, Cross, Co Mayo.

 

Mayo County Council, as the competent authority, has carried out an Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report and a Natura Impact Statement in respect of this proposed development.

An Bord Pleanála may give approval to the application for development with or without conditions or may refuse the application for development.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development, including the Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report and a Natura Impact Statement, will be available for inspection free of charge, or for purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, at the following offices of Mayo County Council:

  • Claremorris Area Office, Kilcolman road, Claremorris, Co. Mayo F12 P383
  • Ballinrobe office, Kilmaine road, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo F31 RR96

between the hours of 9.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 5.00pm each day during which said Offices are open for the transaction of business, for a period ending at 5.00pm on 19th April 2022.

Plans and particulars of the above proposed development, including the Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report and a Natura Impact Statement, are also available for viewing on this consultation portal from 5th April 2022 to 24th May 2022.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development may be made within the period set out above to An Bord Pleanála relating to:

  1. The implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated;
  2. The likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and;
  3. The likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European site, if carried out.

 

Mayo County Council has carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Report and has determined that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and has determined that an EIAR is not required.
