UPDATE - DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Material Amendments will be published on the 29th March 2022 for a period of 4 weeks.

Councillors agreed to extend the Development Plan review period on the 26th of July 2021, following a commencement order to extend the plan process arising from Covid disruptions (Section 9A of Planning & Development Act (amendment) 2021). The review process is due to recommence on the 15th of February 2022 with the consideration of the Chief Executive’s Report and Draft Mayo County Development Plan.

We welcome your submissions

The plan has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 12(1)(b) of the Planning and Development Acts 2000 (as amended). You can review the Draft Mayo County Development Plan 2021-2027 and associated documents and maps both here online or on display in a number of locations outlined below.

You can make online or postal submissions to the Draft Development Plan and/or all associated documents. Submissions must be made in writing no later than 4.00pm on Tuesday 16th March 2021. (CLOSED)

How to make a submission

Submissions must include the full name and address of the person(s) making the submission and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. Submissions should be in ONE medium only i.e. online or hard copy.

Submissions/Observations may be made either directly here using this website or by post. Emailed submissions will not be accepted. Please note that observations or submissions will be made public on the website and at the offices of the Planning Department.

 

Online submission

To make an online submission, register for an account today.  This is a one-time process for all Mayo County Council public consultations. You will receive an email with a link to activated your registration. Click on the link to log in and make a submission.

Written observations or submissions should be marked ‘Draft Mayo County Development Plan 2021-2027’, and submitted to the Forward Planning, Mayo County Council, Aras an Chontae, The Mall, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, F23 WF90. Observations or submissions must include the full name and address of the person(s) making the submission and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. 

Please note that observations or submissions will be made public on the website and at the offices of the Planning Department.

Children or groups or associations representing children are entitled to make submissions or observations.

All observations or submissions received before the closing date will be taken into consideration before the making of the Mayo County Development Plan 2021-2027. 
 

Note: Requirement for names and addresses

Any submission should state your name, address and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. All submissions to the Draft Development Plan 2021-2027 will form part of the statutory Chief Executive’s Report to be presented to the full Council.

Please be aware that this will include the names and addresses of those making the submissions.

Accordingly, the report and its contents will be included in the minutes of that meeting and consequently will be published on our website.

Locations for Display of the Draft Plan

The Draft Mayo County Development Plan (including the SEA Environmental Report, AA Natura Impact Report, SFRA, Maps and accompanying documentation) will be on display here on the Council's consultation portal and at the locations listed hereunder from 23rd  December 2020 until 16th March 2021 (CLOSED)(excluding public holidays) pending Covid-19 guidelines:
